Provenance

Discovery: 1953 O’Kelly (v in McManus, pp 70-71) Found free-standing in the passage of a souterrain [KE092-049----]. McManus/1991, 70, `Found standing upright in a souterrain in the townland of Gearha South…The stone was not incorporated into the stonework of the walls of the structure, nor did it act as a support for the roof. It appears to have been smoothened in advance in preparation for the inscription which was executed in sharp shallow knife-cuts and is in good condition, owing in some measure to the protection from weathering afforded by its location. The final part, however, has been lost’.
