Commentary

The earlier reading of the inital name, ADARUN, is perhaps rather a misreading for AꜝDARAGN = ỌDARAGN = OIr. Odrán, ModIr. Odhrán (Oran, Orin) (*udro- ‘water-related; otter’ + *-agno-).
