Text field: Plain, rough cross carved at base with inscription on the right (sinister) angle (MAC1945)

Letters: Pocked. The M-scores are all at right angles to the edge except the first, which slopes the wrong way : the vowels E and O are expressed by the forfeda : the latter is unusual (MAC1945).

Critical apparatus:

  1. An I, between the M and R of the second word, was dismissed by Macalister as modern nicking. The last three letters of the word MACI are no longer discernible (O’Sullivan and Sheehan 1996, no. 959).
