Divination Ogham

Les 25 lettres de l'alphabet Ogham — connues sous le nom de fews ou feda — portent de riches associations avec des arbres, des saisons, des oiseaux et des qualités de vie. Histoire : Les Anciens Celtes Utilisaient-ils l'Ogham pour la Divination ?

La réponse courte est : probablement pas de la façon dont les praticiens modernes l'utilisent — du moins pas sous une forme que nous pouvons vérifier archéologiquement.

Les 400 inscriptions Ogham survivantes sont presque entièrement des pierres commémoratives. Ce que les manuscrits médiévaux préservent est un système élaboré de correspondances pour chaque lettre Ogham. La source la plus importante est le Livre de Ballymote (c. 1390).

Une note sur l'authenticité : La divination Ogham telle qu'elle est pratiquée aujourd'hui est une tradition spirituelle moderne, pas une reconstruction ancienne.

Que sont les Fews ?

Dans la divination Ogham, chaque lettre individuelle est appelée un few (vieux-irlandais : fid, pluriel feda). Un ensemble complet de 25 fews est appelé coelbren dans certaines traditions.

Méthodes de Divination

1. Le Tirage Unique

Gardez votre question ou intention clairement à l'esprit, plongez la main dans votre sac de staves sans regarder, et tirez-en un.

2. Le Tirage des Trois Fews

Tirez trois fews en séquence et disposez-les de gauche à droite : Passé, Présent, Futur.

3. La Croix des Cinq Fews

Tirez cinq fews et disposez-les en forme de croix — Centre, Dessus, Dessous, Gauche, Droite.

4. Le Lancer

Placez les 25 staves dans un sac et lancez-les doucement sur un tissu. Ne lisez que les fews qui atterrissent face vers le haut.

Fabriquer vos Propres Staves Ogham

Coupez 25 bâtons à peu près à la même longueur (10–15 cm). Poncez-les lisses et inscrivez chacun d'un caractère Ogham — gravé, brûlé ou dessiné à l'encre permanente. Gardez vos staves terminés dans un sac en tissu.

Une Note sur les Fews Inversés

Parce que les caractères Ogham sont directionnels, un stave tiré à l'envers ou inversé reçoit parfois une interprétation opposée. Les inversions sont rarement "mauvaises" — elles sont des invitations à regarder un modèle sous un angle différent.
