Straif

What is Straif?

Straif (pronounced approximately as its Latin equivalent, ST/Z) is one of the letters of the ancient Ogham alphabet, the edge-carved writing system used in early medieval Ireland and Britain. It belongs to the Aicme Muine.

In the traditional Celtic tree calendar associated with Ogham, Straif is linked to the Blackthorn.

How to Write Straif

In the Aicme Muine, strokes are drawn diagonally across the central stem line (the druim).
